"Make no little plans, they have no magic. To stir mens blood make big plans. aim high in the hope that a logical plan never dies". These words epitomize the gumption of a missionary visionary who had a dwarfed sense of fear and absolutely no apprehension of odds against him. With this spirit Dr. Thomas Çangan founded the society for Indian Institute of Rural Management in the year 1988. With his persistence efforts within a span of 18 years he established a network of eleven educational institutions of national repute under the banner of SIIRM.
Dr Cangan from very beginning of his career was an enterprising person. At the age of 10 years he left for the Himalayas to study and acquire the knowledge of herbs and medicinal plants from the Rishi muni residing at Himalayas. At the age of 20 years he started an english medium coaching classes for spoken english specially for the christian weak students. In 1978 the joined Reserve Bank of India and and in 1983 he was promoted and posted to NABARD, Jaipur, Rajasthan Office. He was not satisfies with his job asthe concept of spreading quality education by starting an institution was gathering and strengthening his mind. Therefore he resigned from his job and started SIIRM. He worked extensive very hard which affected his health but still he continued working hard and so on 14th September 2006 he left the world foe his heavenly abode.
