He was a free spirit of a man. In a lot of ways.
I won't get in to his past because that is really not that important. I know his MOM died when he was young and that he was raised by his Grandmother. He lived in the Mill Village of Atlanta and over on Hill Road for some time with Ruby Lee's Family. One of his best friends was Jimmy Lee. He was married to my mother Doris before I was born and up until I was a year and a half of age. She told him to leave and never try to contact me, but he was always around in spirit I think. He loved me but just did not know how to be a Father or Husband because he did not have a Father either. He is missed.
Service Information:
I just found out he past away in 2001. I searched for records and then ended up in Gilmer County on March 22nd 2010 to pick up his death record. He had a funeral but I was not invited.
I guess No one knew how to get in touch with me.
My Mom divorced Donald when I was 2 and did not tell me about Donald until I was 13. I found my birth certificate basically and started asking questions. I am sure that someone tried to notify my MOM but she never passed that information along to me, just like she was never going to tell me I had a Real Father to begin with. Anyway, he is gone and I am sad but I hope that he is in a better place and came to know Jesus before he past away. HE died of Liver Cancer and was staying the last couple of weeks of his life at "OUR Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta." I hope they were able to bring him to the Lord.
I basically went by the funeral home that was listed on the death record and they were able to give me some additional information about my Dad's friends and the Pallbearers.
