Kirk's time here was short, he made a positive influence on many lives. With his courage he taught us many lessons on what is truly important. He is the definition of love. Kirk enjoyed many things including sports, listening to music, playing Legos, Indiana Jones and spending time with his friends. We will miss his unique personality and smile dearly. Kirk leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his life. There is a special place in our hearts for his Nurse Care Practitioner Susie Jonson, Oncologist Dr. Paul E. Michael, Nurse Shelley, and most importantly his recent special friend and angel Ms. Samantha Handle. All of these people, too numerous to mention, provided Kirk with love and dignity in his life and also in his death. A special thank you goes to our family, many friends, and to the staff of Sunrise Children’s Hospital for all of your love and support. You will grieve my loss, but I have not gone. My body is beyond your reach, but my soul is touching yours. I am the one who enters your dreams. Caresses your face hugs you, Misses you. I have not left, my spirit is with yours. I am all around you when you call. I am the gentle breeze when there is no wind. I am in the photo on the wall when you blink in disbelief. I am the song that enters your head for no reason, yet it reminds you. Don't grieve that I am gone. I am with you, beside you, in you. I will be forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kirk's memory to: Make-A-Wish Foundation of Nevada, 910 Pyramid Way, Sparks, NV.
