Leslie Mattson
January 23, 1942   -   February 26 , 2008

Obituary posted by : Hollie Seumae ,  daughter
Person Description:
Leslie Mattson was born January 23, 1942 in Seattle, Washington, and passed away suddenly but peacefully, with her family at her side, on February 26, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Mattson, in 1994; he was the great love of her life. She will be deeply missed by her children, Dina Reddy (Tom), Cara Mattson, Marlo Jones (John), Hollie Seumae (Scott), and Reed Mattson (Julie), and her adored grandchildren, Lindsay, Suzanne, Kevin, Shelby, Elliott, and Genevieve. She is also survived by her mother, June Henson, and her siblings Stan Moshier, Jr. (Lori), Shannon Moshier (Jon), Laurie Menashe (Phil), Joy Bennett (Ian), Seth Moshier (Patricia), as well as her sisters-in-law, Jan Moshier and Cheryl Tolbert, her brother-in-law, Gary Mattson (Gerri), and many nieces and nephews and other family.

Leslie graduated from Franklin High School in 1960 and married Phil in 1962. She lived in the Seattle area almost all of her life, except for the few years she lived in Maui in the late ‘90’s, nourishing her bohemian heart. She only came back to live in Washington because she missed her family so much. She worked in restaurants off and on throughout the years and was known for her wonderful cooking; holiday dinners without her gravy or rolls will never be the same. She raised her children to be open-minded and seek their own truths, and felt very lucky not only to have them but to have the wonderful spouses they brought to the family. She was very spiritual and metaphysical and studied astrology for over 30 years. She was very intelligent and witty, an avid reader, and absolutely loved music, singing, movies, and crossword puzzles.

Arrangements have been made through Flintoft’s; a private wake will be held. Now Phil and Leslie can dance the “Franklin Drag” to “In the Still of the Night” forever.
