Mrs. Quarles was an elegant and regal lady, a retired school teacher in JacksonCo. and former employee of the University of Tennessee Agricultural Exttension Service in Putnam Co. at Cookeville. She was also a writer, historian, and genealogist who helped and encouraged many. She was a graduate of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, where she received a degree in Home Economics.
Mauine was born July 18, 1907, in Jackson Co. TN at Whitleyville, to the late Dr. John Dillard Quarles and Rosa Mai Willmore Quarles.
She was married to the late Bradley Carl Cassetty.
Survivors include 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Barbara A.
and John Hestand of Chattanooga, TN; twin Grandsons: John Brent and James Bradley Hestand, both of Chattanooga, TN; and 1 Sister: Frances Quarles of Whitleyville, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive, and Church family at Gainesboro First United Church in Jackson Co. She was preceded by sister Nola Bronson Quarles Draper and brother John Dillard Quarles, Jr.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maurine QUARLES Cassetty, 100, formerly of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at Gainesboro First United Methodist Church in Gainesboro, TN, where she was a long-time member. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in
the Stone community of Jackson County, TN.
