Person Description:
Rev. Darnell Williams, 72 yrs. old, minister of the Free Will Baptist Church and former resident of Maury Co., died Sat. June 9, 1990, at his residence in Hendersonville, TN.

A native of Maury Co., he was the son of the late W. H. (William Hollis) & Kate Pryor Williams. Ordained as a minister in the Free Will Baptist Church for 54 years, he retired as minister of the Blue Springs Free Will Baptist Church. Previously he pastored at Loyal Chapel, Faith & other Free Will Baptist Churches in the Middle Tennessee area.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nora Eudora (Layne) Williams of Hendersonville, two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Gayle) Vandivort of Westmoreland, Mrs. Roy (Patricia) Smith of Hendersonville, fives sons, Charles Ray Williams of Spring Hill, Damon Dayle Williams of Orange, CA, Richard Wayne Williams of Lexington, KY, Larry Duane Williams of Denver, CO, and Kenneth Noel Williams of Smyrna, TN, 23 grandchildren and give great-grandchildren.

Service Information:
Services were at 2:00 pm Monday at Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Meade officiating. The body will lie in state at the church after 12 noon Monday. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetary. Pallbearers will be Ed Chumley, Bobbie Chumley, P.W. Poe, Johnny Price, Troy Bowers, Jim Bloss, Ronnie Burns and Mark Stooksbury. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. The family will visit with friends from 3-9 p.m. June 8, 1990 at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home, Columbia, TN. posted on
