Mum was a very loving person and would do anything for anyone. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats.
Over the past few years she had had a hard life. She was rushed to hospital back in 2000 and spent quite a while in a coma. She eventually came to and spent eight months undergoing rehab. She was reliant on a wheel chair and walking frame to get around. She came home in October of 2000 and spent most of her time watching tv, playing with the animals. She was taken care of by my brother Steve up until last May (2003) when he got a job.
She was looking forward to my brothers upcoming wedding and seeing her first grandchild but unfortunately it was not to be.
On the evening of Saturday 21st February 2004 whilst on route to the living room she collapsed in my arms and died. I did my best to bring her back but it wasn't to be.
She's in a better place now, whole again and free from pain.
We love you and miss you mum..............always!
Requiem Mass took place at St Clements Church Notting Dale on Friday 5th March, 1pm. The service was conducted by Rev. Dr. Hugh Rayment-Pickard, with the address being given by the Rev. Judith Roberts.
The service opened with one of my mum's favourite songs- Devil Woman by Cliff Richard and the service ended with Spirit in the Sky by Doctor and the Medics. The committal service took place at Mortlake Crematorium with music by The Beach Boys and Cliff Richard. At the end, a pair of white doves were released.
