Obituary posted by : Dore ,  daughter
Person Description:

J. Patrick Doreís life ended suddenly on Saturday January 11, 2003 at his home in Novato. Born March 18, 1942, the youngest of six boys, Pat was raised and educated in San Francisco. He entered the wine industry at an early age, beginning as a clerk in a fine wine shop in the Marina District and working his way up to many top positions at large wineries. In 1981 he founded his own wine distribution and marketing company, Coastal Wines, Ltd., eventually leading to the creation of the J. Patrick Dore' wine brand. In 2002, Pat founded yet another company, Wine Brands of California and the Victoria Street wine series.
In addition to his successful wine career, Pat loved fishing and the open seas, as well as cooking, biking, traveling, being with his family and friends and most of all, making people laugh. Pat was guided by a deeply spiritual and religious soul and a generous, kind heart. He accepted all of lifeís obstacles with relentless optimism and the utmost courage. Pat truly believed in living life to its fullest, not compromising his passions and adding laughter and inspiration to the lives of everyone he knew.
There are no words to express how Patís family and friends will miss him. He is survived by the 3 loves of his life, Barbara, his wife of 34 years, 2 beautiful daughters Pam Dore' (30) and Kim Dore' (21) and countless loving friends and family.
Service Information:
